Izizwe Projects relies on local and international volunteers to keep our projects thriving. A chronic problem in Walmer Township is a shortage of teachers and tutors available to the children. Our volunteers, through their work at various projects, have and will continue to assist to fill this desperate void.
Some basic information every volunteer should know:
Minimum duration of participation: 1 week
Minimum age: 16 years and older
Working hours: 6-7 hours a day, Monday – Friday
Location: Port Elizabeth, South Africa
Included services to volunteers:
- Information and assistance before departure
- Airport pickup upon arrival
- Township tour and introduction program
- All transport to and from volunteer sites and Izizwe Projects events
- Accommodation in our volunteer house (with internet)
- 3 meals a day
- Our 24/7 available volunteer coordinator
- Supervision at all of our projects.
Excluded services to volunteers:
- Flights
- Visas
- Insurance
- Personal luxury items.
